Frequently asked questions

Short answers about price, platforms, multiplayer and saves.

Is Nova's Dominion free?

Yes. The browser version and the Windows download are both free, with no ads and nothing to buy. Paid versions may come after the game is finished, but everything available today is free.

Do I need an account?

No. There are no accounts and no sign-in. Saves and settings stay in your own browser or on your own PC.

Can I play in a web browser?

Yes — the whole game runs at novasdominion.com/play in a current browser, including the campaign and multiplayer. Nothing to install.

What are the system requirements?

The Windows app needs Windows 10 64-bit or later, about 500 MB of disk space, 4 GB of RAM and any GPU from the last decade. The browser version needs a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari and works on phones and tablets too.

How many people can play together?

Up to ten, in free-for-all or teams, and AI opponents can fill any empty seats. One player hosts and shares a six-character room code or an invite link.

Can the Windows app and browser players play together?

Yes. The app's Online mode uses the same rooms as the website, so an app player and a browser player can join the same game by code.

Is there LAN play?

Yes, in the Windows app. Switch Multiplayer to LAN and host: the lobby shows an address on your network that friends can open in any browser, or another copy of the app can join by that address. LAN games never pass through our servers.

How long is a game?

A skirmish runs about 15 to 40 minutes depending on map size. Campaign missions are 10 to 30 minutes each, and the 31-mission campaign is roughly 8 to 12 hours.

Where are my saved games?

In the browser they live in that browser's local storage, so they stay on that device and that browser. In the Windows app they live on your PC. Campaign progress saves automatically between missions; skirmishes have manual save slots.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The browser version supports touch — tap a star to open it, tap Send then the target, drag to pan, pinch to zoom — and the layout adapts to portrait and landscape.

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

Not as a download yet. Mac and Linux players can play the full game in a browser at novasdominion.com/play.

Is it on Steam?

Not yet. Store releases are planned; today the game is on the website as a free browser game and a free signed Windows download.

Is the Windows download safe?

The installer is code-signed by Beckham Enterprises, LLC. It installs for the current user only and never asks for administrator rights. It updates itself, and the update payload is cryptographically signed.

Can I stream or make videos of it?

Yes, including monetized videos and streams. The press kit has key art and screenshots you are welcome to use.

How do I report a bug?

Press Ctrl+B in the game, or use the Report a bug button in the corner. Your description, a screenshot and the game state are sent together. For anything else, use the contact form on the support page.
